A Jellyfish Looks Quite Simple And Innocent, But Appearances Can Be Deceptive At This End Also

Jellyfishes are typical invertebrate animals that float freely over the world's oceans. But their presence can be felt the most in coastal regions around the world. All of them have a gelatinous umbrella-shaped bell coupled with some long tentacles. The bell provides the pressure required for the movement of the jellyfish, while the tentacles provide stinging capability to capture the prey.

The tentacles of the box jellyfish, a species found in waters surrounding Australia, are capable of killing even humans. But the top of a jellyfish is quite safe to be touched.

A jellyfish looks quite soft and tender, but it is quite the opposite.  They often employ their tentacles to paralyze and surprise their prey. They then proceed to grab hold of it tightly and eventually put the morsels into its mouth. The diet of a jellyfish typically consists of aquatic beings. Everything including fishes and  their eggs find their way into a jellyfish's stomach.

They are found in all different shapes and range in a host of different sizes. They can be only a few inches in diameter, while the diameter could as well extend to well over a metres length.

There are big and colorful jelly fishes found in many coastal areas of the world. They are a part of the 2,000 varying species of jellyfishes found in the waters of the ocean. Jellyfishes have been divided into four groups based on their shape and their behavior.

An amazing point about jellyfishes is that they are not fishes at all. They are grouped into a separate class of beings that find no similarity in the world. The body of a jelly fish is mostly made of water. it is surrounded by a single cell layer of skin.
