Lions are the most majestic of all in the animal kingdom and are often referred to as the king among all beasts. Lions originate in many different parts of the world, such as in Asia, Africa and in some parts of North America. The following are some interesting facts associated with lions.

Human Beings are hunted only in Certain Cases

Lions are known to hunt down human beings only if they suffer from any pain in their teeth and gums. Otherwise these beasts are content to hunt antelopes and deer. Human flesh is what they pursue only if they experience a lot of discomfort with their teeth.

Reclusive by Nature

Lions are quite reclusive and do not like coming out too much into the open. They prefer to reside in their caves for the longest part of the day and come out of it only if they have to drink water or hunt down some prey for food.

Females Hunt and not the Males

It is the female lions which are known to take charge of hunting. The male lions are seldom every known to go out on a hunt. The female lions are therefore considered to be more aggressive and are often feared by their male counterparts to a great extent. The female of the species is considered deadlier.

No Attacks made on a Full Stomach

Lions never hunt human beings if they are on a full stomach. In fact they do not hunt any animal at all when on a full stomach.
