Top 5 most endangered species of the world

We are thought about endangered animals since the first years of life, through different coloring books, songs and cartoons. Few of us, unfortunately, actually take a moment to look into these poor lives that have no way of protecting themselves. As displayed all over the world of internet and books, here is a top 5 endangered species.

1. Ivory-Billed Woodpecker

This beautifully colored in black, white and red bird had been thought of being extinct up until 2004. Then, few reports of sightings declared hope for the extremely vulnerably creature.

2. Amur Leopard

Declared the world’s rarest cat, this mammal is a very rare leopard breed, that can be found only in the most isolated and snowy parts of northern woods of eastern Russia. In 2007 there were counted only around 16 adult Amur Leopards and 5-6 whelps.

3. Javan Rhinoceros

The Javan Rhinoceros has been declared the most endangered species of rhinoceros. In Ujung Kulon National Park, on the western tip of the Island of Java have been estimated 50 animals remaining.

4. Nothern Sportive Lemur

All around the Island of Madagascar, ever single species of lemur; counted as being 100, is considered endangered. On top of illegal hunting, the animals rapidly lose their home due to tree desertification.

5. Western Lowland Gorilla

As a result of disease and illegal hunting, this gentle giant is declining dramatically in population. Originally to be found in West Africa, this species has dropped by 80% in the last 25 years.

As regrettable and heartbreaking as it is, these animals are thought to go extinct in the nearest future. Sadly, only a handful of organizations and projects actually succeed by helping them to survive.
