Having a German shepherd as a house pet

German Shepherds are my favorite dogs. They are smart, in fact they, are third smartest dog breed in the world, they are beautiful and they are good pets. Also, many people like them and want to have them as their pets. The reason why, is simple. German shepherds are used by police, border patrol and many other agencies. They are often presented on the TV as well. Because people want what they see, they are very popular. But, there are some things you must know about them.

German shepherds are very smart animals, as I said. But in order to ‘’use’’ that intelligence, you must train them. The best option is to hire a local trainer or to take them to a training center. Then, you will have an adult dog that will do anything for you and he will behave perfectly. You must remember that their training starts sooner than with other dogs, so don’t start too late. If you don’t train a German shepherd, his behavior will be, let’s just say less interesting. They won’t obey you, and they will look confused all the time. The difference between a trained German shepherd and not trainer is huge.

The German shepherd is a big dog. Males are bigger than females. Also, their fur is thick, so during the warmer months, you must use a brush or a comb to remove excess hair. When they are little, they are very beautiful. It is crucial to remember that you shouldn’t touch their ears when they are little. Don’t pull their ears or they will have problems to straight them later.
