How to keep a cat and a dog at the same house

It may look like something impossible (at least many people think so), but you can have a cat and a dog as your house pets. Obviously, you are going to need more time to adjust them to each other, but when they become friends, it is great. The best thing you can do is to bring home a kitten and a puppy.

When they are young, they will adapt quickly to each other. You will only need to help them in a first couple of days, after that, they will become friends for life. If you already have one pet, and you brought home another, you will need more time to make this work. For example, if you have a dog, bring your cat next to him and let them look at each other, but don’t allow them to make a contact! Do this as often as you can.

Eventually, they will start ‘’hanging out.’’
It is important not to feed both of them near each other. Dogs have a natural instinct that tells them to attack anybody who approaches them while they eat! It would be a perfect solution if you can feed them in a separate room.

One trick that can help you make a bond between a cat and a dog, is to put them in a cold room. I know, it sounds awful and cruel, but when they are cold, they will lie near each other, to keep them warm. This will make a bond between them. If you succeed, everyone will want to see the cat and dog as friends.
